The fresh design of the DDJ-FLX6-GT boasts a sophisticated new look featuring a new matte grey body and a new rubberized coating around the circumference of the controller’s full-sized metallic graphite jog wheels to improve artist playability. The new controller inherits the beginner-friendly features of the original unit including Merge FX, Jog Cutter and Sample Scratch.
Updated Design with a Graphite Color Offers a Sophisticated Look
The layout of the controls on the DDJ-FLX6-GT is the same as its predecessor, echoing club-standard CDJ and DJM setup allowing artists to perform intuitively. The controller’s new matte grey body and the graphite color of the jog wheels adds a sophisticated look. Software Compatibility
Virtual DJ is now compatible with the updated controller (licenses available separately) in addition to free use of the rekordbox Core plan and Serato DJ Pro software. The DJ controller also features license keys for the Serato FX Pack, Pitch 'n Time DJ Expansion Packs and TRAKTOR PRO 3 TSI file. With a built-in sound card, artists simply connect the DDJ-FLX6-GT via USB cable to a laptop running a compatible software to start DJing*. Pitch bending and scratching feel natural on the DDJ-FLX6-GT thanks to the large jog wheels, which are the same size as those on the flagship CDJ-3000 multi player. Each jog wheel features On Jog Display* allowing artists to keep an eye on the play head position. Artists will also find a new rubberized finish on the outer ring to improve the jog wheel feeling, especially when artists pitch bend. Merge FX for Dynamic Transitions Between Tracks
Artists can add drama to their sets and easily mix different styles of music with the DDJ-FLX6-GT’s Merge FX feature. Regardless of the BPM or key of the next track, Merge FX allows artists to create an exciting transition whenever they want. Artists Simply press the knob to engage the effect, then turn it as fast or as slowly as they like to build tension in the music.
The DDJ-FLX6-GT features eight Merge FX pattern presets to choose from when using rekordbox. Artists using TRAKTOR PRO 3, Virtual DJ or Serato DJ Pro have the choice of four Merge FX pattern presets. Apart from the presets, artists can also use their own samples. Artists using rekordbox can choose from 41 types of effects within the four categories that make up a Merge FX—Build FX, Build Sample, Release FX, and Drop Sample—and combine the FX to create more than 9,000 different patterns. Artists can save eight of their own patterns and use the FX Select button on the unit to cue them whenever you want to perform a unique mix. Jog Cutter for Pro-Sounding Scratch Effects
Creating a professional sounding scratch is now easier than ever with the DDJ-FLX6-GT’s Jog Cutter feature. Artists simply turn on the Jog Cutter, move the jog wheel and a professional scratch effect is applied to the last Hot Cue or playback position. The controller features 10 different scratch patterns and artists can switch from one pattern to another by simply moving the play head position on the jog wheel’s display. When artists lift their hand away, the track will continue to play as normal from the Hot Cue position. Sample Scratch Enables Artists to get Creative With Their Favorite Sounds
The Sample Scratch pad mode in rekordbox enables artists to choose sounds assigned to the sampler and load the sounds onto the controller decks. Artists using using Serato DJ Pro or Virtual DJ, can use Scratch Bank* to trigger samples by hitting the Performance Pads.
