Genuine Sebastian Vettel used Red Bull Racing 2008 RB4 F1 Wheel Table (No Glass Included).
DESCRIPTION
Here we have something very, very cool and something you don't see everyday, an F1 wheel actually used by a Formula 1 legend, 4 time world champion and all round good guy, Sebastian Vettel and right at the beginning of his most dominant era.
This is the second rear wheel that was used in the morning session of the winter test at Barcelona on September 19th when the brakes cooked themselves and set alight.
This wheel was used on the morning of day 2, Seb's morning was cut short when the rear brakes caught fire but in the afternoon once the problem was fixed, he set the fastest time of the session at 1:19.751 and signaling that the then Toro Rosso driver and latest Red Bull lead team signing had arrived, his dominance was about to begin.
This very rim is pictured in the very smokey photo above. To have an F1 car part is one thing, but to have one where you can actually prove where it was used and used by a legend, is the stuff that collectors dream of.
This wheel is exactly as it came off of the car in Barcelona including the fire damage and all the handwritten notes the team added, including a quarantine label when the rear wheels were deemed too damaged to use further.
This is marked up with Red Bull's numbering system which reads RB4-RS-01873. #621, which means it was used on the 2008 RB4 car and is number 621 of the wheels used by the team in the 2008 season.
It has its original valve, so can easily be fitted to a tyre and it will hold air.
Please bear in mind that these wheels have been rescued from being stored away in a barn, in less than ideal conditions since they left the factory they were kept in (they came from Williams strangely enough when they had their big clear out and cancelled auction some years back, what Williams were doing with Red Bull's wheels can only be guessed at) as such there is minimal corrosion to the magnesium, small pimple type blemishes, these can be removed with ease by rubbing them off and I have tried to highlight this in the photos, it isn't perfect by any means, not just through being used in competition but how it has been stored by the previous owner. But this Vettel rear wheel is in great condition for its history, as can be seen in the photographs above.
For a used F1 wheel that also pretty much been on fire, it's in superb condition.
This is a special piece of F1 history, one which the real collector will not want to miss out on and the person starting out on their collection would surely love as their debut F1 car part.
The wheel measures in at approximately 14.5 inches high, by 14 inches in diameter.
Glass is NOT included, but is 24 inch diameter, 3/8 inch thick for reference. Purchased off Amazon.
