FG 510 four-wheel
drive gas car Somebody might ask why I'm
selling this after all this work and the answer is I just purchased a genius
for the new season coming up. I purchased this car 2022
for racing at local track. Although the car ran really
well right out of the box it still had weak points compared to the more
expensive cars. With my experience of
composite work and CNC machining I made many new design changes to adapt on
road race car performance. Starting from the bottom up chassis is 7075 aluminum
double layer in the front. On top of the aluminum there's another chassis layup
carbon fiber with Matt in between four layers carbon fiber. This will easily
solve the problem of the FG week chassis. The belt drive system is
nice from the factory of FG but it does have resistance creating drag. I
machine the whole new housing for it that allows for more clearance gave 4 mm
of play on the cog belt and machine a slot in the of the carbon fiber to allow for more
clearance on the bottom side of the belt. Converted to four wheel disc brakes
and using CV shafts in the front to solve the problem of the dog bone shafts
would come out on the track all the time, To solve the problem with
the weak servo from the FG I put in two quarter scale servos with plenty of torque
to operate that four wheel brake and steering. At the same time built a carbon
fiber upper plate to strengthen the front of the chassis even more which FG did
not have in the factory car. The clutch is a GPM three
shoe adjustable with adjustable bell. Pipe is a samba 8 tune pipe
specifically for the FG. Motor is a Zenoha 26 ESP top
end from ddm and this is a legal motor for the sportsman class because it's
four wheel drive where everybody else runs 23 CC. The body is a Porsche GT3
rsr with vinyl graphics on it but has been raised so it shows contact marks
also have new front clip for it. All the factory parts that
were removed from the car I also have be included plus extra parts for stuff
that commonly used at the track. Because I put this car together on off season
it has not seen the track yet so it will probably need fine tuning if run out
of local track if ran on a parking lot it'll run just as it is just fine. I
printed the Vinyl logos and I will print some new replacement ones that are
screwed up and send them with the car.
