These 1206 SMD pure green LEDs are a go-to for instrument cluster swaps and hobbyist builds where a clean 520nm green is needed — bright enough to read in daylight, compact enough to drop in without modification.

Each LED runs at 3.0–3.2V forward voltage, 20mA, and emits at 520nm for a true pure green — not yellow-green or lime. The 1206 package (3.2mm × 1.5mm) is large enough to hand-solder easily, with a 120° viewing angle and diffuse clear lens that spreads light evenly without hot spots. Luminosity sits at 450mcd — visible and punchy without being blinding in enclosed dash cavities or model enclosures.

Common applications

• Automotive instrument clusters: Chevy Colorado / GMC Canyon (2004–2012) gauge clusters explicitly call for 1206 SMD LEDs; also fits Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon, and Suburban 2007–2014 clusters. Green is a popular OEM-style replacement or accent color.
• VW Golf/GTI/Jetta Mk4–Mk5 (1998–2010): 1206s are the standard replacement size for these cluster boards; green can restore or refresh faded OEM backlighting.

Wiring & power notes

DC power recommended: LEDs are designed for DC. Running on AC will cause flickering and reduce lifespan. If using a low-voltage AC source (model railroad transformer, DCC track voltage), convert it to DC with a MB1S bridge rectifier plus a 100µF 50V electrolytic capacitor for clean, ripple-free output.
